There seems to be some sort of validation for a band when they are featured on a late night show. Dating back all the way to The Beatles first appearing on the Ed Sullivan Show, the late night TV format has become the ultimate spotlight for bands whether they are new or have been around for 30+ years.

What’s even better is the fact that these late night TV shows are broadening their horizon as far as introducing bands with genres that never get the mainstream spotlight they should.

The most recent example of this is when last night Slayer was featured on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. As you’d expect, Slayer gave it their all and left it all on the stage.
