The passing of George Michael has left the world in immense sadness. Artists have been paying tribute to the legend through songs, written letters and live performances. It’s been an emotional end to the year, and it’s only going to get more emotional with the news that broke about George’s funeral.
It was just announced that George’s great friend Sir Elton John will perform his funeral, and will play a song that George absolutley loved. Elton will perform “Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me,” a song that George regularly performed at his concerts, and even brought up Elton up on stage with him a few times. Later on in 1991, the two actually ended up recording a version of the song as a duet together!
This specific performance down below is from the Live Aid performance in 1985! It’s an amazing and emotional performance, and both George and Elton sound amazing!
Earlier this week, Elton performed the song at a concert and dedicated it to George. Following the song, Elton reportedly broke down and had a difficult time finishing the show. We can only imagine how his performance at George’s funeral will be.
