Eagles Covers Are Being Taken Off The Internet And There’s Someone To Blame…

Beware All Eagles Coverers!

Are you a fan of covers of great songs of The Eagles like I am? Well, we may not be seeing a whole lot of those for now. A recent epidemic, if you will, has been happening particularly on Youtube. Covers of songs by The Eagles have been taken at an alarming rate.

Fun Fact: Gipsy Kings, Frank Ocean, and Nancy Sinatra all covered “Hotel California.”

The other day I was looking through some posts about Eagles covers and came across something that caught my attention.

Starting with a young girl by the name of Ayu Gusfanz, this girl is famous for her cover of the Hotel California solo she plays with her father…. So I go to click the video, and then this happens…

Well that’s unfortunate…

Then I get to one of my more recent posts, where a pianist does a full piano cover of Hotel California. I click it, and yep, you guessed it…

A very talented musician by the name of Chase Holfelder ran into this issue lately as well. He did a Major To Minor cover of the song Desperado. Unfortunately, that too was taken down due to the same issue.

It looks like Eagles covers are getting taken down left and right. Now, UMPG (Universal Music Publishing Group) has every right to this since they own the music, but it still stands, if you are a musician and were planning on doing a cover of a song by The Eagles, that may not be possible!
