‘We need love in a time like this.’

Every year, hundreds of thousands of people flock to Chicago, Illinois during the last week of July, or in some cases first week of Augustfor the end of summer festival: Lollapalooza. This year, Arcade Fire closed out the festival on Sunday night, with an epic and inspiring set.

To close out the festival, the band wanted to leave a message of peace and love, and played a cover of “Mind Games” by John Lennon. They extended the song over 9 minutes, and also sprinkled in a cover of Radiohead’s “Karma Police” and David Bowie’s “Oh! You Pretty Things.” The entire performance is inspiring, and their cover really captures the emotion John put behind this track! It was an appropriate way to close out the festival, and it will go down as one of the best moments in the festival’s history!
