Aerosmith – “Rats In The Cellar” Live
Catch Me If You Can!
“Rats in the Cellar” was written by Steven Tyler and Joe Perry. It was released on May 3, 1976 as a third track for their fourth album, “Rocks.” It was a huge success and even reached quadruple platinum status. It also ranked number 176 in the “500 Greatest Albums of All Time” by the Rolling Stone magazine.
It has been stated by Steven Tyler that it is the ‘shadow’ of their other song “Toys In the Attic” from their previous album. It was released as a promo single for “Rocks”.
This album became an inspiration for Slash to learn playing the guitar and was even one of the favorite albums of Kurt Cobain. James Hetfield, lead vocalist of Metallica, also cited this as an important influence to his music.
AllMusic described Rocks as having “captured Aerosmith at their most raw and rocking.”
Steven Tyler and the band definitely know how to rock it!
