Bob Is Back!

Remember Bob Wood? Our now famous guitar playing 81-year-old? Well, he’s back again on the Bobby Bones show with singer Lindsay Ell and he is just as awesome as he was before. Playing Cream’s iconic “Crossroads” with this talented beauty, Bob really brings home that good-feel guitar work and you can really tell that he is having fun!

“I went down to the crossroads, tried to flag a ride. I went down to the crossroads, tried to flag a ride, nobody seemed to know me, everybody passed me by…”

Originally recorded in 1930 by Robert Johnson, Cream’s “Crossroads” tells the possibly true story about Johnson selling his soul to the devil for his talent on the blues guitar, acquiring the challenging talent almost overnight.

Interesting Fact: Cream’s version is a compilation of parts of two Johnson songs: “Crossroads Blues” and “Traveling Riverside Blues.”

And this time, not only is Bob rockin’ his awesome guitar, but he’s even singing! And not badly for an 81-year-old… We hope that this inspirational video will give all ages hope to learn or maintain a talent such as this. Enjoy Bob’s hard work and talent below!

+ Crossroads Lyrics +

I went down to the crossroads, fell down on my knees.
I went down to the crossroads, fell down on my knees.
Asked the Lord above for mercy, “Save me if you please.”

I went down to the crossroads, tried to flag a ride.
I went down to the crossroads, tried to flag a ride.
Nobody seemed to know me, everybody passed me by.

I’m going down to Rosedale, take my rider by my side.
I’m going down to Rosedale, take my rider by my side.
You can still barrel house, baby, on the riverside.

You can run, you can run, tell my friend-boy Willie Brown.
You can run, you can run, tell my friend-boy Willie Brown.
And I’m standing at the crossroads, believe I’m sinking down.
