Sometimes kids just have it, we don’t really know why or where it comes from, but every once in awhile we will come across some star-crossed prodigy that was put on this Earth to make sweet music, even at young ages. Say hello to Toby Lee, a 10 year-old prodigy that knows the in’s and out’s of blues, performing BB King’s “The Thrill Is Gone.”

Interesting Fact: King recorded the song several times but didn’t like any of the results. Producer Bill Szymczyk (most famous for producing the Eagles) called King at 4:00 a.m. and suggested the addition of strings (King later said that he’d agree to just about anything at that time of the night). The addition polished up the recording that gave King his first million-selling record.

Dressed in his adorable tiger onesie, Toby delivers one of the most expert covers of “The Thrill Is Gone” that we have ever seen with eyes closed and heart open- the definition of youthful mojo, basically. What makes this even greater than just a standard cover is Toby’s flawless and effortless ability to throw in his own creative improvisations into the already incredible song.

Toby Lee is the definition of an old soul in this breathtaking rendition of “The Thrill Is Gone” and, in our opinion after watching this, the thrill is most certainly not gone.
